Bob Young is one of the eight elders at LRCC. He is pictured here with his wife, M.J.
M.J. and I have been part of Loma Rica Community Church since 1974.
We finished raising our international family of seven children at Collins Lake and are now blessed with 15 grandchildren. I came forward in Loma Rica Community Church to affirm Christ as my Lord and Savior and the Bible as the guidebook of my life on December 6, 1980. I was baptized in the Jordan River in Israel in 1984. My Christian testimony is simply that I am a sinner who is saved by grace. During the past five years my faith has been strengthened as I placed my life in the healing hands of Christ and have battled an aggressive cancer. There is no sign of it at present. Thank you, Jesus!
Now retired, my life’s careers have been like different chapters in a book, including automotive new model planning, designing and marketing crafts, book publishing, serving as an officer in the U.S.
Coast Guard, Senior Economist at Stanford Research Institute, international consulting assignments in Europe, Asia and Africa, living in Bangladesh and Pakistan for seven years while working as an economic advisor to the government of Pakistan, 30 years of building and managing the Collins Lake Recreation Area, and serving in leadership at Loma Rica Community Church.
Answering God’s calling on my life, I have served first as a Trustee and then as an Elder at Loma Rica Community Church for over 20 years. During these years I have been blessed to be able to use God’s gifts in my life to help guide the church’s administration, finances, growth and maturity.
We may be a small country church. But we’re an alive body of believers who love the Lord, serve together in unity, and reach out to extend God’s love in our hill communities. |
