I was born and raised in Browns Valley, the youngest of four siblings, and attended local
schools, including Marysville High School, graduating in 1989.
Our family attended Emmanuel Faith Tabernacle in Linda, but I can remember coming to Loma
Rica Community Church for Vacation Bible School and other special events.
At the age of 16 I felt God was calling me to preach the gospel, and after high school I
began to work with the youth group at Emmanuel Faith Tabernacle while I attended college.
I became the volunteer youth pastor at my church during the last year and a half of college.
I graduated from California State University Chico with a Bachelor of Arts degree in social
work in 1993. I continued serving as the youth pastor until 1995, when I married my wife,
Rebecca. I resigned from my position as youth pastor because I wanted to spend the first
year of my marriage without ministry responsibility.
I then worked for the Yuba City Police Department as a Community Service Officer until I
accepted the position of Youth Pastor at LRCC in May of 1996 and currently serve as Associate
Pastor. We live in Browns Valley with our four children: Jesse, Anna, Seth, and Caleb.
